"BOO"TIFUL NAUVOO!

Steve on stage as the Editor, and the two of us just before  "Rendezvous"
Don't you love it when you see a beautiful tree that looks like it's lit up because of the golden color of the leaves?  We're truly enjoying the fall foliage and the sunshine and sometimes the crisp air.  We've really enjoyed our week too, serving together on four of the days.  Last Sunday we were at the brick yard, where a beautiful family named McBride came to visit.  As they were leaving, we asked the names of their two little girls...the oldest is Brinkley and the one year old is...can you guess?...Darcy!  How many Darcy McBrides can there be in this world, and what are the odds of two of them being at the same spot at the same moment? Some picture taking took place, but our camera battery was dead, so hopefully we get our pic emailed to us!

On Monday we served as Rovers...we took a walkie talkie, some signs for four different sites that were closed, and then camped at one, giving tours there until we got a call telling us to meet some people at one of the other sites...it was fun, and nice to have the variety.   The hours are changing next week for some of the signs...we just laugh trying to figure out all the different changes.

On Tuesday we were both at the Family Living Center on a split shift, which gave us a 3 hour break in the middle of the day, which we took advantage of and went out to lunch, shopping, etc.  On Wednesday we had our first shift out at the Carthage Jail Visitors Center.  It was a dreary day, and not a lot of visitors, but we still had the opportunity to give a tour or two.  What an amazing place to be and what a great spirit there.  We couldn't help but get emotional
as we testified of the restored gospel and of Joseph Smith as a prophet of God.

Thursday evening, Pat Davis, who is well known in the church and in Utah, for her theater skills, came to Rendezvous...we got a call about an hour before the show, our director asking Steve to be the Editor since Sis. Davis would be seeing the show...wasn't our scheduled night, but it all worked out.  Sis. Davis spoke to us after the show...she had written the Editor's part, as well as the men's song, "Willingly".

We had a fun P-day, after attending Prep mtg. we carved pumpkins for a couple of hours out at one of the NRI warehouses.  Tonight is the big community Halloween celebrations ...cemetery tours, Scooby Doo movies at the elementary school, pumpkin carving contest and auction, other auctions, food vendors, a parade (with the Crazy band of missionaries riding in the Nauvoo Brass Band wagon).. Steve is the Emcee for the band, and will finally perform "Monster Mash"...lots of sales in the shops, etc.  Then at 8:15 pm our cast has "Rendezvous".

After we carved pumpkins, we came home and worked in our yard...yes, I know that's hard to believe...then we cleaned up and went to a temple session.  Then that evening our friends the Taylors invited us to go to a movie in Keokuk.  "Courageous" is a fantastic movie...I insist on all of you seeing it.  wow...

Peeking through the sorting box at the post office!
Well, the blessings, the joy, the fun, and the achy joints continue.  Treat or Treat!!
